Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using SignalTrust (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These terms apply to all users of the Service, including candidates and recruiters.

2. The service

SignalTrust analyses CVs and produces a Ready-to-Hire trust score — a numeric indicator of how clearly a CV signals employment readiness to a recruiter. The Service also provides AI-generated explanations, improvement suggestions, visa guidance, and salary benchmarking.

The Service is provided "as is." Trust scores are indicators, not employment guarantees or legal assessments of work authorisation status. Candidates and recruiters should not rely solely on a trust score for employment decisions.

3. Accounts

You must sign in using a valid Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must not share your account credentials or allow others to use your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

• Upload CVs or documents that contain false information
• Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically access the Service in an automated manner without our written consent
• Attempt to reverse-engineer the trust scoring algorithm
• Use the Service to discriminate unlawfully against candidates on the basis of age, gender, race, nationality, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Upload malicious files, code, or content
• Circumvent authentication or access controls

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Candidate data and CV processing

By uploading a CV, you grant SignalTrust a limited licence to process that CV for the purpose of generating a trust score and AI insights. This licence is non-exclusive, limited to the purpose described, and terminates when you delete your CV or account.

You represent that you have the right to upload any CV you submit — either because it is your own CV or because you have the candidate's explicit consent to submit it on their behalf.

We process your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

6. Recruiter terms

Recruiter access is currently limited to invited pilot partners. Recruiters additionally agree to:

• Only upload CVs for candidates who have consented to have their CV processed by a third-party scoring service
• Not use trust scores as the sole basis for hiring decisions
• Not share trust reports outside their organisation without candidate consent
• Comply with all applicable employment law in the jurisdictions in which they operate, including EU and Irish equality legislation
• Treat trust scores as one input alongside their own professional judgement

Recruiters are responsible for their use of the Service and for ensuring their use complies with applicable data protection law, including any obligation to inform candidates that their CV may be scored by a third-party tool.

7. AI features

AI-generated content (CV suggestions, visa guidance, salary estimates, Q&A answers) is produced by large language models and may contain errors or omissions. AI output is informational only:

• CV improvement suggestions are not professional career advice
• Visa guidance is not legal advice. Consult a registered immigration advisor or solicitor for your specific situation
• Salary guidance is based on market benchmarks and is not a guarantee of any particular salary

You agree to use AI features with appropriate professional judgement and not to rely on them as a substitute for legal, immigration, or employment advice.

8. Intellectual property

The SignalTrust platform, including its scoring algorithm, software, and design, is owned by SignalTrust and protected by intellectual property law. These terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the right to use the Service as described here.

Your CV content remains yours. We do not claim ownership over CVs you upload.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
• We do not warrant that trust scores are accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose
• We are not liable for any employment decisions made on the basis of trust scores
• Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to €100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We will delete your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms, or if we reasonably believe continued access poses a risk to the Service or other users. We will provide notice where practical.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you also have the right to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice in the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
